Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Can we book a cottage just for a Saturday night?

A. We normally let the cottages for a minimum of 3 nights over the weekend, (Friday, Saturday and Sunday), or a minimum of 4 nights mid-week.

Q. What are your check in / check out times?

A. Guests are welcomed after 4:30pm on the day of arrival and are requested to vacate the cottages by 10:00am on the day of departure. Due to the rigorous cleaning protocols we need to follow now due to Covid 19 we regret that we are unable to offer an early check in or late check out.

Q. Do you require a deposit, when is the balance due and how can payment be made?

A. A 25% deposit is required on booking and the balance is payable six weeks prior to arrival. Full details may be found on our terms and conditions page.

Q. Do I need to bring any towels/linen?

A. The rate is fully inclusive of electricity, central heating, hot water, towels and bed linens and all the “little extras” we provide.

Q. Are there places to eat out close by?

A. We are very lucky to have many really good places to eat out within a 10-25 minute drive of the cottages, to suit all tastes and pockets. As keen “eater outers” ourselves, we have a carefully chosen list of the ones we especially like on our website. You will find this list on the “Eating Out” page. Most of these are very popular with visitors and locals alike, and so if one takes your eye, although you may well be able to book at the last minute, try and book well in advance to avoid disappointment.

Q. Can we book taxis?

A. Yes. You can see a list of local taxis on the ‘Eating Out‘ page.

Q. Can we bring our dogs to the cottages?

A. We allow one dog (charged at £15 per night) in Heather Cottage ONLY.
Guests bringing a dog to Heather Cottage must abide by our doggy T&Cs (found here). We are very proud of our 5 Star Gold grading and need to keep everything in tip top condition for all other guests to enjoy and to indeed keep Heather Cottage dog friendly.

Q. Are the cottages suitable for children?

A. Both cottages are designed to be luxury retreats just for two, we do not allow children under the age of 16 (except for immobile babies).

Q. Can we have breakfast at Dannah Farm?

A. Yes. All guests staying at Dannah Cottages are welcome to come to Dannah Farm (approximately 6 miles / 15 minute drive) during your stay, for a full farmhouse breakfast at no extra cost.  Breakfast is served between 8:30 and 10:00. Please let us know when you book, or at the latest when you check in, that this is something you would like to do.
