Joan and Helen Slack are joint owners of Dannah Self-Catering Cottages. Joan has many years of experience in the hospitality industry, gained from running the renowned Dannah Farm B&B. Helen is the wife of Joan’s eldest son, James.

The cottages have been sympathetically restored and are a perfect marriage of traditional and bang-up-to-date, from solid oak beams to Canadian Spa in the Garden (complete with hot-tubs).

Dannah Cottages are tucked away in the tranquil village of Kirk Ireton, near Ashbourne in Derbyshire. Ashbourne is widely known as the Gateway to the Peak District.

The village of Kirk Ireton is steeped in charm, featuring a beautiful 12th-century church, a small but impressively stocked village shop, and the characterful Barley Mow Inn.

Despite its serene rural Derbyshire atmosphere and proximity to the various amenities and attractions of the peaks, the village is just a short drive from both the M1 to the east (18 miles/35 min) and the M6 to the west (34 miles/60 min), making it an ideal base for both relaxation and exploration.
