A warm welcome from Joan & Helen

Joan and Helen Slack are joint owners of the cottages. Joan has many year of experience in the hospitality industry gained from running our sister property Dannah Farm, A boutique 5 star guest house in the nearby village of Shottle. Helen is the wife of Joan’s eldest son James.

Four walls and a location…… This was the description given to our new self-catering venture after we were a little way into the restoration!

What began, we thought, as a lick of paint, a little damp-proofing and a tidy up turned into a major re-build lasting almost exactly two years from start to finish. But what a transformation it has been – the cottages really are something special, from hot-tub to four poster beds, original artwork to chilled wine waiting in the fridge, they have the WOW factor in spades! Cosy romantic retreats just for two with everything you could want to make that special birthday, anniversary or honeymoon an occasion to remember.

The cottages have been restored sympathetically and are a perfect marriage of traditional and bang up to date – from solid oak beams to the Canadian Spa Hot tubs!
