Dovedale

Dovedale is one of Derbyshire’s finest and most popular dales and is a renowned beauty spot visited by many tourists. It is around 2-3 miles along the river Dove and boasts stunning scenery and many walks. There are numerous places of interest including the famous stepping stones, Thorpe Cloud, the village of Ilam, The River Dove, Ilam Park, and more.

There are numerous walks around the area, from the easy and gentle to the more demanding walks such as up to  Thorpe Cloud, or over Bunster Hill and the surrounding areas. A little further afield you’ll plenty of other walking areas such as Wetton, find the impressive Thor’s Cave in the Manifold Valley.

Dovedale is a  dramatic limestone ravine, busy with wildlife and rare wild flowers, impressive rock outcrops, tranquil woodlands and is always worth a visit during your stay at either of our cottages.
